Hello! I am Doreen Coones, founder, and owner of COONES TRAVEL AND TOURS, a boutique tour business specializing in curating custom great group getaways, exclusively for discerning travelers 55+.
Wanderlust is a family trait! My bold nature and wandering ways runs in my blood! I am named after my Grandmother, Doris Hansen, a fearless adventurer who traipsed all around the United States from the roaring 1920s until her peaceful death in 1996. My Father, Donald Coones Sr, SMSgt, USAF (retired), has been enterprising, courageous, and adventuresome since the day he was born in 1928! Furthermore, as an Air Force Brat and as an active duty airman, I had the distinct pleasure of living in numerous states as well as overseas.
Some of my fondest adventures include watching the awe-inspiring Northern Lights (aurora borealis) from the shores of Lake Superior in Freda, Michigan; admiring the expansive and incredible views from the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France; and observing the jaw-dropping vistas, beautiful mid-evil castles and churches, vineyards, and the renowned Lorelei while traversing the Rhine River, Germany, on a marvelous river cruise.

My travel industry credentials include the coveted Certified Travel Associate, CTA®, designation. It is awarded by The Travel Institute to travel professionals who complete a rigorous training program which includes a closed-book, proctor-administered test, and who adhere to the highest standards of travel professionalism. In addition, CTAs are required to fulfill stringent continuing education requirements each year.
